For a number of years, the Great Lakes Chamber Music Festival has shared administrative leadership with
Detroit Chamber Winds & Strings and the Eisenhower Dance Ensemble. These organizations have separate missions
and distinct boards of directors, but share office space and administrative services. These relationships have
pooled financial resources so that all organizations can afford access to staff with specialized skills in areas
such as marketing, development and finance.
Formed in 1982, Detroit Chamber Winds & Strings (DCWS) has been bringing unusually sized chamber music works
to life in Metro Detroit. With special emphasis on woodwinds and brass, DCWS is the only organization of its
kind, playing music for between 3 and 18 players, instead of the usual 3 to 8 performers that one sees in most
chamber music performances.
Celebrating its 18th Anniversary, Eisenhower Dance Ensemble (EDE) can call itself Michigan's premiere
contemporary dance company. Under the artistic direction of founder Laurie Eisenhower, EDE has flourished into
a company of national merit, having performed across the United States, throughout Michigan and
in New York, Illinois, Ohio, Indiana, Virginia, Florida, Washington, D. C., and St. Petersburg, Russia.
